The latest advertisement covers two batches, CGEPT-01/2027 and CGEPT-02/2027, with online applications through www.ssc.gov.in from 6 to 21 October 2026.

Selection runs through four stages: a one-hour computer-based exam of 100 questions, a qualifying physical fitness and assessment stage with medicals at ICG recruitment centres, document checks and pre-enrolment medicals at INS Chilka, and verification of original documents. The order of merit is based only on Stage-I marks.

This guide sets out the vacancies, pay, date-of-birth ranges, qualifications, exam pattern, physical and medical standards and application steps as the official advertisement prints them. Hygienist-I posts in the same advertisement are only mentioned here.

CGEPT-01/27 and 02/27 vacancies

All vacancies are tentative and may change. Male Navik (GD) vacancies are allotted across five zones (North, West, East, South and Central), with a separate merit list for each zone. Female Navik (GD), Yantrik and Navik (DB) are recruited on an all-India basis.

Yantrik posts are only in CGEPT-01/27 and Navik (DB) only in CGEPT-02/27. Yantrik, Navik (DB) and Hygienist-I are open to men only. You cannot claim a particular batch.

Stage-wise selection and merit

Stage-I is a computer-based exam of 100 objective questions in one hour, the same for all posts.

Stage-II, at ICG recruitment centres, is qualifying: the Physical Fitness Test, an Assessment Test, document verification and the recruitment medical examination. Assessment Test marks do not count for merit.

Stage-III at INS Chilka covers an Aadhaar-based identity check, document verification and pre-enrolment medicals. In Stage-IV, ICG verifies your original documents with the concerned boards, universities or state authorities.

The order of merit is based only on Stage-I marks, and you must qualify in every phase of Stage-II. Your identity is checked at every stage, by live photo, left-thumb biometrics, signature and identification marks; failing any identity check cancels your candidature.

Tie-break order (equal Stage-I marks)

OrderCriterion
1Older candidate is placed higher
2More marks in the Assessment Test

Stage-I written test: pattern and syllabus

The CGEPT-01/27 and 02/27 advertisement prescribes one computer-based exam for all posts — Navik (GD), Navik (DB) and Yantrik alike: 100 objective multiple-choice questions, 1 mark each, in one hour. The paper is bilingual (Hindi and English), and there is no negative marking.

To pass, you need 40 marks if you are UR, EWS or OBC, and 35 if you are SC or ST. If the exam runs in several shifts, marks are normalised, and the normalised score is used for merit and cut-offs.

The notice does not print a section-wise split or a topic list. It says only: "Detailed syllabus is available at portal." Check the syllabus on the official portal before you prepare; no topics are listed here.
