SBI Clerk Notification 2026: Recruitment, Vacancy, Dates, Fee and How to Apply

Vacancies: 7,680 regular vacancies (plus backlog vacancies listed separately in the advertisement)

• Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales), clerical cadre, State Bank of India
• Starting basic pay ₹26,730 (₹24,050 plus two advance increments for graduates)

Age limit: 20–28 years (born between 2 April 1998 and 1 April 2006, both days inclusive) (as on 1 April 2026).

• Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government
• Final-year or final-semester students may apply provisionally but must show they passed on or before 31 December 2026; integrated dual degree holders must also have passed by that date
• Proficiency (reading, writing, speaking and understanding) in the specified local language of the state or UT applied for

₹750 (General/OBC/EWS); Nil (SC/ST/PwBD/XS/DXS)

SC, ST, PwBD, ex-servicemen and disabled ex-servicemen/dependents pay no fee. The fee is non-refundable.

1. Phase-I, Preliminary exam: online objective test of 100 marks (qualifying; about 10 times the vacancies shortlisted category-wise)
2. Phase-II, Main exam: online objective test of 200 marks; only these marks decide the merit list
3. Phase-III, Local Language Proficiency Test for provisionally selected candidates who did not study the language in Class 10 or 12

   Open the form on SBI's careers page

   Go to sbi.bank.in/web/careers/current-openings and open 'Recruitment of Junior Associates 2026'. Registration and fee payment ran from 11 to 31 August 2026. Applications are accepted online only.

   Scan your photo, signature, thumb impression and declaration

   Keep scans of your photograph, signature, left thumb impression (right thumb if you have no left thumb) and a hand-written declaration in the wording given in the advertisement, as per Annexure-II. Signatures or declarations in capital letters are not accepted.

   Fill the form for one state

   Apply for one state or UT only and choose one local language. You can save and reopen the form using your provisional registration number and password, but only three times; nothing can be changed after final submission, including your category.

   Pay the fee

   ₹750 for General, OBC and EWS candidates; nil for SC, ST, PwBD, XS and DXS. Pay online by debit card, credit card or internet banking. The fee is non-refundable.

   Opt for pre-exam training if eligible

   SC, ST, OBC, ex-servicemen and PwBD candidates can opt for online pre-examination training in the form; the schedule is sent by email and SMS.

   Download call letters

   Call letters and the 'Acquaint Yourself' booklet are downloaded from SBI's website about 10 days before each exam. Bring two extra photographs (the same one pasted on the call letter); keep the stamped preliminary call letter for the main exam.
